The board of the Finance Authority of Maine yesterday proposed a rule that would limit FAME\u27s role in the Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) plan to use FAME funds to buy out the Fairfield Energy Venture plant in Fort Fairfield. The proposed rule, which has been issued for public comment, would limit FAME\u27s role to judging the financial soundness of CMP\u27s application for a $78 million low-interest loan to finance the buyout.
