Angus King, independent candidate for governor, said that he netted $8 million from the sale of his company, Northeast Energy Management Inc. of Brunswick, to Eastern Utility Associates of Massachusetts, a utility holding company. Eastern Utility said the overall purchase price was $19.8 million, and King said he received $8 million after paying bank loans, capital gains taxes and other costs. Northeast Management, with two employees, does large-scale electricity conservation projects for Bath Iron Works, the paper industry and schools. Details
