SKI Ltd. of Vermont, owner of the Killington, Haystack and Mount Snow ski resorts in Vermont, this week agreed to purchase 51 percent of Sugarloaf/USA in Carrabassett Valley for an undisclosed price. The deal will put Maine\u27s ski industry, worth $135 million annually, in the national spotlight, and give resorts around the state the opportunity to attract new customers. The immediate impact of the purchase will be the implementation of a $4.5 million plan to build a new chairlift, increase snowmaking capacity and expand Sugarloaf\u27s trail network. Details
