The eight members of Portland\u27s Friends of the Park Commission voted unanimously yesterday to oppose plans of the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company and Museum to lay temporary tracks along the base of Eastern Promenade this summer. The commission members believe that allowing the tracks to be put down make it more difficult to plan walking and biking trails that would share space with the narrow gauge train. The decision is not binding on the Portland Planning Board, which has scheduled a vote for June 28 on the matter
