The U.S. Senate held hearings yesterday on Gulf War Syndrome, and one senator accused Pentagon officials of ignoring signs that U.S. troops were exposed to chemical weapons. The Veterans Administration hospital in Togus has examined and registered around 250 Gulf War veterans from Maine so they can be contacted if medical research provides any new insights into the mysterious, debilitating illnesses that have affected thousands of veterans nationwide.
