For the first time since the state passed restrictive zoning on shorelands 22 years ago, Boothbay is going to let businesses in a 40-acre area in East Boothbay develop non-marine activities. Residents made the decision at Monday\u27s town meeting, and supporters of the action see it as a way to rejuvenate the area\u27s stagnant economy. Opponents worry that it will open the door to fast-food restaurants and hordes of tourists, forever ruining the quiet of East Boothbay. Details
