Robert S. Smith, a Portland hotel consultant with Northeast Hospitality Alternatives, and Augusta developer Maurice Blais recently won approval from Saco city officials to proceed with a proposal to build a 10-acre hotel, convention center and liquor store complex off the Maine Turnpike. Plans call for construction of a $3.5 million, 89-room hotel that would be ready in time for the 1995 summer tourist season. Details
