The muralist Wyland plans to turn the bare 450-foot-long west wall of the Bath Iron Works building at the Maine State Pier into a giant scene featuring native mink and finback whales and porpoises in nearby water. The Portland project, planned for a week in early June, will mark the start of a 17-week, 17-city mural painting tour that will take the artist from Portland down the coast to Key West, Florida
