Governor John R. McKernan is expected to sign an executive order this month establishing the Maine Enviromental Priorities Project, a two-year program which will bring together scientists, public officials and private citizens to identify and rank problems that threaten the environmental and public health in Maine. The move is in response to growing criticism that the Department of Environmental Protection\u27s activities cleaning up the environment cost money without bringing significant benefits.
