Hancock Timber Resource Group of Boston has announced plans to purchase 300,000 acres of timberland in northern New England and the Southeast from Diamond Occidental Forest Inc., including roughly 60,000 acres in Maine. Hancock will then negotiate an agreement to resell the timber to James River Corp., which owns 23 percent of Diamond Occidental
