Community Care Systems of Maine Inc., an affiliate of Jackson Brook Institute, has submitted a $6.9 million proposal to the state that calls for closing the Augusta Mental Health Institute and transferring most patient care to community hospitals and social service agencies in southern Maine. The plan also proposes a managed-care program for monitoring costs, as well as a computer system to track patients eligible for public services. Details
