Diverse-city piece on the excessive political correctness shown by the Portland Press Herald when it refused to print the euphemism, the N-word, in a column the author wrote about someone using the racial slur against her. The paper also refused to use the word squaw, in covering a story in which Native American Benjamin Humphrey pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2002 beating death of Canadian Derek Rogers, in Ocean Park. Rogers allegedly called Humphrey\u27s sister a squaw, and Humphrey\u27s sister faces a murder charge. The Press Herald used derogatory name related to American Indian Heritage to describe the motive for the killing
