The collection also contains material regarding the involvement of Alabama Jewry, particularly the Tuscaloosa Jewish community, in the intellectual, cultural, religious and social life of the University.Biographical/Historical Note: The Hillel Foundation on the University of Alabama campus was founded in 1934 and is integrated into the University community through its programming, co-sponsored events, and the involvement of the students in other university groups. The Hillel dedicated a new facility on 9th Street not far from major campus landmarks in April 2011
