This Just In piece on Benjamin Crocker, the former Republican candidate for state representative in District 118 in Portland, representing the West End. Crocker, a liberal, formally withdrew from the race last week after serving as a place holder for Republicans until the party could find a conservative to run. Crocker said he entered the race to encourage the political process. Ben Gilman, political director of the Maine Republican Party, says the party is still looking for someone to take Crocker\u27s spot.
