Hancock Timber Resources Management Group has sold a 3,092-acre parcel in Weld to McPherson Timberlands of Bangor. The land was part of a 238,000-acre parcel acquired from James River in 1993. Hank McPherson of McPherson Timberlands said the land will probably be cut and resold in the next few years. Some observers are surprised by the sale, given Hancock\u27s record of investing in timberlands for the long term.
