The National Park Service has asked the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to investigate how federal designation of the Allagash River as wild is affected by the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands\u27 illegal reconstruction of the dam. The concrete structure was built in 1997 after voters approved $1.5 million in bond money, but the project appears to have violated Section 7 of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act
