News & Issues piece on the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad (B & ML). For the first time in 129 years, B & ML trains are not running from the railroad\u27s historical home on the waterfront in Belfast. Following a dispute with city officials about ownership of the waterfront property, which was purchased by the city in the 1980s for $360,000 and then leased back to the railroad, B & ML\u27s management decided to base all of its excursions in Unity, hometown of owner Bert Clifford. The B & ML runs excursions from Unity five days a week and provides dinner trains to the Marsh River Theater in Brooks. General Manager Bob Lamontagne said the operation is profitable and he plans further talks with Belfast city officials, hoping to resolve the issues that divide them.
