But Dale McCormick, a Demorat and a former state senator who is now state treasurer, said Maine doen\u27t need more studies. Maine needs a realistic proposal, courage, decision and action. In the early 1990s, McCormick was instrumental in the establishmnent of a commission that studied Maine\u27s health care needs. In 1995, the commission presented it findings to the Legislature, but none of its recommendations was adopted. Gov. King described the plan as overly ambitious, but made no proposals of his own
