The Maine Great Ponds Task Force on Tuesday decided to forward to the Maine Legislature its recommendation to ban jet skis from all ponds 200 acres or less in the unorganized territories. The recommendation will not be made if the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission votes to permit the personal watercraft, and the ban could be overturned by citizen petition. Jeff Stoddard of J&M Camper of Augusta said the industry would fight the ban, and plans to introduce its own legislation. Details
