Last week the Bangor City Council voted to devote space for a children\u27s museum in the city-owned former Freese\u27s department store building. The commitment to build the museum grew out of Partnerships for a Healthy Community, said project director, former state senator Sean Faircloth. A feasibility study has been done with $75,000 in seed money. The three upper floors of the six-story building would be renovated for senior citizen housing, and the University of Maine and the Maine College of Art have submitted proposals for the remaining space.
