The Mt. Abram School Board recently voted to restrict use of Bastard Out of Carolina, a 1992 novel by Dorothy Allison that was a finalist for the National Book Award. Allison was in Farmington on Sunday, where she read passages from the novel and talked about issues raised in the book. A teacher has filed an appeal of the school board\u27s decision
