The Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance, based in Brunswick, has been promoting Maine books and authors since 1976. The alliance currently has 1,400 members, an annual budget of $250,000 and sponsors some sixty writing workshops each year, and carries 1,500 titles from 300 publishers through its successful book distribution service.
