More than a dozen small Maine firms are currently producing specialty cheeses in the state. Most of the cheese being crafted in Maine is made from goat\u27s milk, although there are one or two cow\u27s milk cheese makers. The market for local cheese is strong, and Kris Horton, owner of Horton Specialty Foods in Portland\u27s Public Market, says she sells out of Maine cheeses every week. With a focus on cheese makers from Sunset Acres in Brooksville, Appleton Creamery in Appleton, Hahn\u27s End in Phippsburg, Seal Cove in Lamoine and York Hill in New Sharon
