North by East piece on the Maine Highland Games, scheduled for August 19 at Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick. Lorraine Montgomery of Rumford, general chairwoman of the games, said the event started as a little picnic with a few members of the St. Andrew\u27s Society of Maine. She says the games now attract more than 5,000 people. Montgomery expects about fifty clans to set up their tents, along with displays of Celtic instruments, Scottish vendors, strolling bards and bagpipe contests
