Article about Sunshine , a Northeast Harbor summer home designed by Peabody & Stearns in 1879 for Charles William Eliot, former president of Harvard University. The shingle style house and its natural setting were considered perfect\u27 by Frederick Law Olmstead. Later called Blueberry Ledge by the next owner, Mrs. Peter Augustus Jay, the cottage was inherited by her daughter, Susan Mary Alsop, who often hosted dignitaries during the summer. Shortly after the property was purchased by Mitchell Rales, a Maryland investor and billionaire, Blueberry Ledge was torn down to make way for a new modern compound called Ruthy\u27s Way that cost nearly $30 million to build and stirred up controversy in Northeast Harbor
