Profiles of five Maine directors. Wayne Beach, 46, whose directorial debut, Slow Burn, stars Ray Liotta and is currently in post-production. Beach, who collaborated with the late David Hodgin on the script for Murder at 1600, has sole writing credits for another Wesley Snipes thriller, The Art of War. The work of Portland auteur Matt Power, 42, will be highlighted this year with the release of his full-length dark farce Throg, and the political satire short film The Nine.
