The new administrator for the Small Business Administration, Karen Gordon Mills of Maine, paid a recent two-day visit to Maine. Mills founded the private equity firm MMP Group in Brunswick, where her husband, Barry Mills, is president of Bowdoin College. She authored a 2008 Brookings Institute report titled Clusters and Competitiveness: A New Federal Role for Stimulating Regional Economies.
