Business Maine: Northern piece reporting that a federal appeals court recently ordered Mallinckrodt, the former owner of the HoltraChem plant in Orrington, to pay for studies of mercury pollution in the Penobscot River. The plant made chlorine and other chemicals for about 40 years before closing in 2000. Mallinckrodt is paying for a cleanup of the site that is now underway, but had appealed a court decision that it pay for the $4 million river study too
