The stock market downturn that sent some unemployed business people out looking for their own businesses and others seeking alternative investments have translated into an increased demand for solid Maine businesses. This article uses the examples of several buyers and sellers of Maine businesses to come up with guidelines for buying and selling a business, and for knowing when to buy or sell.
