Focus: Building & Real Estate piece on Rick Morris, owner of Lewiston-based In Depth Archaeology, a historic consulting company that guides builders and developers through historic preservation requirements. Morris is one of 16 historic archaeologists registered with the Maine Historic Preservation Commission. Three years ago Morris began offering house histories for private homes. The basic house history package includes a list of past owners, copies of all deeds, historic documents, photographs and some related maps. Brenda Fontaine, a real estate agent in Auburn, recently hired Morris to conduct a house history on a client\u27s home, adding that one has to find unique ways to market a property in this buyer\u27s market. Casey Gray, a real estate agent in Scarborough, agrees that a house history is something that would stand out in a buyer\u27s mind.
