When Stevens took over as president in 1993, the community bank was struggling. Under Stevens\u27 leadership, Kennebunk Savings has grown its assets from $227 million to $650 million, and the bank\u27s return on assets over the last several years has consistently placed it in the top quarter of community banks in the state. Stevens credits the turnaround to a focus on a healthy employee culture, good customer service and a commitment to serving the community. Stevens established the banks\u27 community investment program, through which the bank allocates 10 percent of annual earnings to area nonprofit organizations
