Building & real estate piece on the soon-to-close Sanmina-SCI plant in Augusta, built in 1979 by Digital Corp., and called an incredible campus. It might have been difficult to find a compatible buyer for the complex, with its 40,000 square feet of office space, but Augusta-based Harper\u27s Development has purchased it and sees the 198-acre property as a major opportunity for the firm and for Augusta. Harper\u27s president, Kevin Mattson, envisions a new business park on the site. Mattson has a track record of filling buildings quickly. The city hasn\u27t given up finding a new electronics manufacturer for the space, one that might hire back Sanmina workers, although that appears unlikely
