Focus on Health Care piece on Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems in Bangor, the lead player in a federal grant to speed the adoption of electronic medical records at local health care organizations. The collaboration, called the Bangor Beacon Community, is comprised of 12 area partners, each with its own patient records. Funding for the Beacon Community Cooperative Agreement Program comes from the HITECH Act. part of the federal health care reform bill.
