Independent filmmakers in Maine work with low budgets hoping to reach a wider audience. Emptyhouse Film in Freeport, the entertainment division of Motion Media Film and Video, is run by director Andy Davis. He, Motion Media owner Olin Smith, and producer John Lane are producing a feature film, Monster in the Woods, their fourth horror film in under two years.
