Maine lawyer Robert Hayes, named one of the 10 most influential lawyers of the 1980s and one of the 50 most influential of his generation, comments on anti-discrimination law. In Hayes\u27s experience, anti-discrimination law prohibits no legitimate business practices, but it does require potential employers to maintain good records and avoid offensive small talk, particularly in the area of disabilities. Hayes also founded the National Coalition for the Homeless and received a McArthur Foundation genius award
