Business Maine: Southern piece reporting that Maine Rubber International was awarded $700,125 by a federal jury earlier this month in a breach-of-contract lawsuit with a Maryland-based environmental consulting firm. Maine Rubber said it decided to move its industrial tire and rim operations to a Portland location based on a 1998 assessment of the site by the Environmental Management Group. Maine Rubber later abandoned the site after state and federal inspectors found large amounts of hazardous waste there
