Business Maine: Central & Western piece reporting that a citizen group\u27s proposal to levy a tax on the state\u27s bottled water companies has been met with harsh criticism by Nestle Waters North America, which has threatened to halt expansion plans in Maine for its Poland Spring brand. Kim Jeffery, CEO of Nestle Waters, said the company had been looking to locate a new bottling plant in Somerset, Franklin or Oxford counties that would double its current workforce of 500 in the next few years. But he says the proposed 20-cent-per-gallon tax would present a huge financial burden. The company would pay $150 million a year for the proposed H2O for ME tax
