Focus Greater Bangor piece is an edited transcript of an interview with Scott Phillips, owner of Northeast Outdoor Sports in Old Town, a member of the Penobscot Nation, and an eight-time national whitewater champion. Phillips discusses the impact the Penobscot River Restoration Project has had, which includes increased opportunities for recreational paddling and fishing along the river, although there is still a long way to go before the fish populations are sustainable and healthy. Phillips also talks about his experience paddling a birch-bark canoe. With a sidebar that describes Phillips\u27 new project: mapping the river\u27s dangers, such as industrial debris that was not removed along with the dams
