City piece on James Richards, 31, of Portland, who hopes to be part of a class-action lawsuit against Purdue Pharma, the Connecticut manufacturer of OxyContin. Richards, who became addicted to the narcotic painkiller after he broke his back on the job in January of 1999, found information online about a lawsuit being prepared by the law firm McKenzie & Taylor of Pensacola, Florida. Richards said he also plans to sue David Phillips, the doctor who prescribed him the medication. Phillips is a Portland pain specialist who works at Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in Portland
