City piece on the Portland City Council election campaign pitting candidate Ethan Strimling against incumbent councilor Jack Dawson. Strimling recently sent out a letter implying that Dawson doesn\u27t support the city\u27s gay rights ordinance, and charges Dawson voted to reduce public funding for The AIDS Project. Dawson said neither allegation is true. According to official council meeting minutes, Dawson not only voted for a motion to increase funding for The AIDS Project, he seconded the motion.
