The Maine Broadcasting System, which owns WCSH-TV Channel 6 in Portland, wouldn\u27t allow independent U.S. Senate candidate Plato Truman to participate in the station\u27s October 26 candidates debate because of a policy excluding candidates who aren\u27t running active campaigns. The station sponsored a debate featuring the candidates for the 2nd Congressional District, and although Green Party candidate Charles FitzGerald was excluded independent candidate John Michael was allowed to participate.
