Maine received $27,646 of a $7.2 million national settlement with the Keds Corporation for alleged price fixing of women\u27s athletic shoes. The money will go to a coalition of 10 projects that help battered women. Direct distribution of the money to consumers was not possible because there was no way of identifying the Keds purchasers.
