Sensibilidad y especificidad de las escalas ELI, SAL, LARSEN MODIFICADO, KLOCKHOFF y NIOSH para la calificación de la hipoacusia profesional en Popayán, Colombia

Objective: To determine the sensitivity and specificity of five available scales to the qualification of the Tonal Audiometry for the detection of occupationally induced hearing loss. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted. The study population was 92 adult workers. Participants underwent the application of the different formats of registration of the results and qualification of the tonal audiometry. Participants received a hearing evaluation by clinical audiometry. Sixty four cases met the inclusion criteria and were selected for the final analysis.Once the tonal audiometry was complete, evaluation of occupationally induced hearing loss was done by using the ELI, salt, modified LARSEN, KLOCKHOFF and NIOSH classification scales. Results were compared to FREQUENCIAL analysis. Results: The LARSEN scale was noted to detect more cases of occupationally induced hearing loss. The LARSEN modified, represented detection in 54.69% of cases for right ear and 56.25% of cases for left ear. On the other hand, noted the direct relationship of hearing loss with regard to the age. No direct correlation to time of noise exposure was found.. Conclusions: The rating scale that presented greater sensitivity was the LARSEN modified. It was represented by 93.1% and a specificity of 100%.Objetivo: Determinar la sensibilidad y especificidad de las diferentes escalas para la calificación de la Audiometría Tonal para la detección de la Hipoacusia Profesional. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal. La población objeto de estudio fueron 92 trabajadores a los cuales se les aplicó los formatos para el registro de los resultados y calificación de la audiometría tonal. Se les realizó audiometría clínica y se seleccionaron 64 casos teniendo en cuenta los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Mediante la audiometría tonal se hizo el diagnóstico de Hipoacusia Profesional, aplicando las escalas ELI, SAL, LARSEN MODIFICADO, KLOCKHOFF y NIOSH, comparándolas con el Análisis Frecuencial, dividiendo por rangos de frecuencias (graves, medias y agudas). Resultados: Se observó, que la escala que más casos con Hipoacusia profesional detectó fue LARSEN MODIFICADO, representado en 54.69 % para oído derecho y 56.25 % para oído izquierdo. Por otro lado, se observó la relación directa entre la pérdida auditiva y la edad; por el contrario, no se encontró relación directa entre ella y el tiempo de exposición a ruido. Conclusiones: La escala de calificación que presentó mayor sensibilidad fue LARSEN MODIFICADO, representada en un 93,1 % y una especificidad del 100 %
