Child care has become an important fact of life for the majority of young children in the United States. Clarification of the nature and extent of early child care as a source of variability in child wellbeing is not only a pressing research concern, but also a critical issue for parents and policymakers. This thesis investigates how child care experiences are related to child wellbeing during the first three years of a child\u27s life, using data from the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study (FFCWS), a large sample of children born to predominantly low-income single mothers.
