Obesity is one of the most rapidly emerging public health concerns whose prevalence far exceeds that of eating disorders (Hudson et al., 2007). As most obese individuals do not meet criteria for an eating disorder, emotional eating (EE) may be a more useful construct in understanding obesity more broadly. Anxiety sensitivity (AS) has been recognized as a transdiagnostic risk factor for a variety of problem behaviors including EE in obese individuals (Hearon et al., 2012).
