Many of the current research interest include the study of molecular antioxidant compounds of natural source. This study aims to evaluate the antioxidant activities of the methanolic extracts of different parts of Detarium microcarpum: trunk and root bark, leaves, fruits and flowers. The total polyphenol content was determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu method and the antioxidant activity by two methods: the free radical scavenging of the DPPH and the Ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) method. The total polyphenol content of plant parts was found to vary from 109.44 to 40.06 mg gallic acid equivalents per gram of extract (mg EAG/g).
