THE ROLE OF LIBRARIANS IN THE CREATION AND DISSEMINATION OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE**

Academic libraries, and perhaps of course the Web itself, present a mother lode of scholarly information for our research endeavors. Still, even with a good amount of determination and knowing exactly what it is we are looking for, certain barriers do present themselves, making our search for the right scholarly work a challenging task. Granted we may have had immediate success in obtaining the works we needed, when needed. But then again, it is not uncommon for us, the researchers, to experience some roadblocks. These obstructions could be in the form of embargoed content or pay walls, for example. Or, simply put, there are stuff that are just plain hard to find, no matter how hard or carefully we look. Adding to this, the library involves a great deal of mining an organized (or muddled in the case of the Web) structure of content. Thankfully we have the academic librarians to help us navigate such a structure. After all, we too have our own scholarly works to produce and publish. By having an academic librarian at our disposal, we have a partner in creating and disseminating our scientific knowledge
