La investigación y el investigador en la percepción de estudiantes de Maestría en Educación

Graduate education in Mexico has expanded mainly by the opening of Master programs in private schools, especially in the field of education. In this respect, there are not records to identify how students conceive their potential roles as researchers or the level of understanding when they perform these tasks. For this reason, the project identifies the perceptions of a group of students of the Master of Science in Education program. The study was classified as qualitative, interpretative, which assessed students’ perceptions about the role of research and educational researcher. The results showed that their perceptions about it are poor and affected by their professional profile. Students do not have a clear idea about the values that an educational researcher should have or the role of educational research in the processes of quality management and teaching practice in the classroom. Furthermore, students don not see the link between such management and the role of educational researcher.La educación de posgrado en México se ha ampliado principalmente por la apertura de programas de maestría dentro de las escuelas privadas, especialmente en el campo de la educación. Dentro de ellas, no se cuenta con registros que identifiquen la forma en que los estudiantes conciben sus potenciales roles como investigadores, ni el nivel de reflexión con el cual abordan estas tareas. Por ello se planteó identificar las percepciones de un grupo de estudiantes de Maestría en Ciencias de la Educación. El estudio se catalogó como cualitativo, de corte interpretativo, el cual valoró la percepción de los estudiantes en torno a la función de la investigación y el investigador educativo. Los resultados mostraron que sus percepciones al respecto son incipientes, viéndose afectadas por su perfil profesional. Los estudiantes no percibieron con claridad los valores que debe tener un investigador educativo, ni el papel de la investigación educativa en los procesos de gestión de la calidad y la práctica docente dentro del aula; así como tampoco asociaron dicha gestión con el papel del investigador educativo
