La economía del comportamiento y la teoría de las motivaciones en el estudio de los factores determinantes en el uso del recurso hídrico en comunidades rurales en Colombia

This paper is part of the thesis work for the Mastery in Environment and evelopment. It aims to show the main postulates which are the result of the current research, through the approaches of Behavioral Economics and the Theories of Motivation; it is firstly intended to determine the main factors why people use water and subsequently, which motivations would lead them to save water or to have behaviors that make them reduce the high current water consumption. Being one of the responsibilities of society with future generations and the environment. This research is pioneer in the State of Antioquia and one of the first in Colombia, because the Behavioral Economics is barely starting to be integrated into the study of the natural resources especially that of water, and it shows how the different scientific disciplines are articulated and how they interact with the societal systems to achieve the goals which contribute to the country´s development.El presente artículo hace parte del trabajo de tesis para la Maestría en Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo y tiene como fin mostrar los principales postulados resultantes de la Investigación en curso, a través de los enfoques de la Economía del Comportamiento y las Teorías de las Motivaciones, con miras a determinar en primer término cuáles son los principales factores de uso de agua de las personas y posteriormente cuáles son las motivaciones que las conduciría al ahorro del agua o a tener conductas que permitan disminuir los altos consumos actuales, lo cual es una de las responsabilidades de la sociedad con las futuras generaciones y con el medio ambiente. Este trabajo de investigación es pionero en el departamento y uno de los primeros en Colombia, pues la Economía del Comportamiento apenas comienza a ser integrada en el estudio de los recursos naturales, especialmente el agua, y muestra como las diferentes disciplinas científicas se articulan e interactúan en los sistemas sociales para lograr objetivos que aportan al desarrollo del país
