We\u27ve all used tools online to translate text from one language to another, but have you ever wondered how they actually work? Does Google have a million programmer-linguists at a million keyboards, hard-coding the innumerable idioms, phrases, and grammatical structures of different languages, and the rules for how they\u27re transformed from one language to another, into one giant computer program? It turns out that many of these translation tools learn how to translate from one language to another all on their own, by analyzing a large collection of human-translated texts.
